About Quantum Science Austria

Quantum Science Austria (quantA) is at the forefront of cutting-edge research in quantum science, supported by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) and in collaboration with six of Austria’s most prestigious institutions, including the University of Innsbruck, Austrian Academy of Sciences, Johannes Kepler University Linz, University of Vienna, TU Vienna, and the Institute of Science and Technology Austria. Our mission is to advance quantum science and technology through innovative research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.

The Role: Training Officer

As part of our ambitious training program, quantA is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Training Officer to help drive our educational initiatives. This role is crucial in implementing and coordinating innovative programs that will redefine quantum science education and prepare the next generation of researchers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching Development: Develop and enhance educational programs in quantum science across multiple disciplines.
  • Fellow Program Implementation: Lead the establishment of the quantA Fellow Program, providing support to both lecturers and students.
  • Event Organization: Coordinate and manage academic events, lectures, and the introduction of a new cooperative PhD program.
  • Program Coordination: Work closely with faculty, administrative staff, and external partners to ensure the smooth running of educational initiatives.

Your Profile

We are seeking candidates with a strong background in higher education and program coordination. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s or Doctorate degree in a relevant field, excellent organizational and project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Proficiency in both German and English, as well as experience in conflict management and a sensitivity to diversity strategies, are essential.

What We Offer

QuantA offers a stimulating work environment with a commitment to flexible working hours and family-friendly policies. We provide ample opportunities for further education and professional development, including a paid lunch break, meal subsidies, and other attractive benefits. The position is based at the University of Innsbruck’s Experimental Physics department and is part-time (20 hours/week) with a duration until 31.08.2028. The starting salary is gross €1,633/month (14 times a year), with the possibility of increases based on relevant experience.
